About us
About The Meridian
An English-language publication on world affairs, business, science and culture.
The Meridian publishes concise reports on the stories shaping governments, markets and popular culture. Every report links to the official statements and the news organisations it draws on, so readers can check each fact for themselves.
Reports use the collective byline The Meridian News Desk. Our archive retains earlier articles with their original dates, and RSS feeds are available for the publication and each section.
Editorial standards
- We name the sources for every story, distinguish confirmed reporting from attributed eyewitness accounts, and clearly identify information we have not independently corroborated.
- We do not publish rumours, anonymous gossip or speculation about private lives, health or legal matters.
- Where credible sources give different figures, we show both and say who said what.
- Quotations are reproduced exactly and attributed.
- We separate reporting from opinion, and we do not publish paid content as editorial.
- Company profiles identify supplied information and distinguish company statements from public records.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the change at the end of the story, with the date of the correction.
To report an error or a rights concern, use our corrections and feedback form. Include the article address and supporting source material.
