Authorship & accountability
The Meridian News Desk
The collective byline used for The Meridian’s source-based reports.
Articles credited to The Meridian News Desk are compiled for this publication from the sources named at the end of each story. This is a publication byline, rather than the name of an individual reporter.
Each article identifies its source material and distinguishes reported facts, company statements, attributed accounts and information that has not been independently corroborated. A desk byline does not imply that we witnessed the events described.

Publication dates
Article dates describe the published edition. A redesign or navigation change does not make an old report a new story. Substantive editorial updates are identified separately when recorded.
